The Occasion: The Scholarship and Guidance Association (SGA) Youth & Family Services celebrated a century of serving Chicago’s at-risk youth during an evening at the Modern Wing of the Art Institute of Chicago.
The Highlight: Geoffrey Canada, CE0 of the Harlem Children’s Zone that was featured in the popular documentary Waiting for “Superman,” inspired guests with a passionate discussion of the issues facing children and education both in Chicago and nationwide.
The End Result: The more than 370 guests learned more about the SGA’s new Roseland Children’s Initiative, a program that will provide massive, comprehensive support for Chicago children and their families.
