The Occasion: The Four Seasons Hotel Chicago turned into an ancient Egyptian fantasy during The University of Chicago Cancer Research Foundation Women’s Board 44th Annual Grand Auction Gala, in partnership with Tiffany & Co.
The Details: Greeted by a sphinx and escorted through a golden Egyptian alley filled with gilded pyramids and pharaohs, guests enjoyed a live and silent auction, featuring such items as a Tiffany Lace Collection valued at $36,000, and trips to the Virgin Islands, Beijing, Italy, and New York City.
The VIPs: Liz Adams and Becky Davidson were the event’s co-chairs, while Lidia Devonshire currently serves as President of the Women’s Board.
The End Result: More than $700,000 was raised for the continued support of cancer research at the University of Chicago Cancer Research Center that was founded by John D. Rockefeller 117 years ago.
