September 22
The Occasion: More than 600 women passed through four homes in Winnetka and Kenilworth during the Winnetka Auxiliary of the Woman’s Board of Rush University Medical Center much-anticipated Cooks’ Tour.
The Cause: As a part of the Board, the Auxiliary is committed to the pledge of $10 million over 10 years to the Campaign for Rush University Medical Center’s establishment of the Woman’s Board Heart and Vascular Center.
The Details: After touring the magnificent properties—one home was a rehabbed schoolhouse—supporters enjoyed lunch at the Winnetka Woman’s Club, including raffle prizes and a sale of baked goods and casseroles prepared by the 60 members of the Auxiliary.
The VIPs: Sue Pelletier was the event chair, with Janet Wyman serving as assistant chair, both of Winnetka.
The End Result: More than $52,000 was raised for the Center.
