The Occasion: For the 15th year in a row, Bears Care put on a spectacular show of compassion, featuring players, coaches, and supporters all raising funds to support breast and ovarian cancer research and treatment programs for Chicagoland
hospitals.
The VIPs: The star-studded guest list at the United Club at Soldier Field included Virginia McCaskey, Head Coach Lovie Smith, General Manager Jerry Angelo, and more than 30 players like Brian Urlacher, Chester Taylor, Devin Hester, and newly signed Julius Peppers.
The Details: The emcee for the evening was “Voice of the Chicago Bears” on WBBM-AM Jeff Joniak, and guest auctioneer was co-host of the “The Eric & Kathy Show” Eric Ferguson.
The Highlights: Sports-themed auction items included a trip for two to an away game with the Bears and a Zamboni ride at a Blackhawks game.
The Final Score: More than $600,000 went to cancer research being conducted at Rush University Medical Center, Northwestern University, Stroger Hospital, NorthShore University HealthSystem, and University of Chicago.
