KidsUganda
Members and supporters of KidsUganda gathered at a private home on Ridge Road in Lake Forest on the evening of September 10, to celebrate and enjoy an African-inspired night filled with music and food. KidsUganda, based in Lake Bluff, supports the Maranatha Schools and Orphanage in Mityana, Uganda. Host Tom Dickleman encouraged attendees to visit with Patrick and Eva Walusimbi from Uganda and hear their stories of triumph in their poverty-stricken hometown. The more than 300 guests enjoyed music by The Message Ensemble and King Robinson & Bruce Williams, with Derrick Stout and The Turnstyles rounding out the evening. Fire spinners wowed the crowd all night long. The more than $75,000 raised will be used to support the children of Maranatha as KidsUganda continues to build a better future for those less fortunate.
